The supernatural shocker Lights Out is currently in cinemas, but Warner Bros is already planning the perfect home release for the film this October. Lights Out will be released VOD on 11th October and later on DVD and Blu-ray on 25th October, so it will be suitably spooky watch for this year’s Halloween.
The DVD and Blu-ray editions will come with deleted scenes, so if you’re keen to see new footage from the film you will be able to do so. The film stars Teresa Palmer (Warm Bodies), Gabriel Bateman (Annabelle) and Maria Bello (Demonic, The 5th Wave). It comes from director David F. Sandberg who is currently working on the sequel to Annabelle, and Lights Out is based on his short film of the same name. The short is superbly scary, take a look at it below.
Synopsis:
When Rebecca left home, she thought she left her childhood fears behind. Growing up, she was never really sure of what was and wasn’t real when the lights went out…and now her little brother, Martin, is experiencing the same unexplained and terrifying events that had once tested her sanity and threatened her safety. A frightening entity with a mysterious attachment to their mother, Sophie, has reemerged. But this time, as Rebecca gets closer to unlocking the truth, there is no denying that all their lives are in danger…once the lights go out.
We had a lot of fun with Lights Out and think it was filled with some pretty effective scares, check out our review right here.
