The cast of Hellboy: The Crooked Man is starting to build out, with Millennium Media finding its new Hellboy in the form of Jack Kesy (The Strain)!
“Jack Kesy is a dynamic actor who has the ability to morph into his roles,” says Jonathan Yunger, co-President of Millennium Media. “His talent and stature are perfect for this younger Hellboy. I was very impressed with him while working together on The Outpost.”
Also new to the cast are Jefferson White (Yellowstone) and Adeline Rudolph (Resident Evil). Deadline reports that White will play Tom Ferrell, with Rudolph playing Bobbie Jo Song.
Brian Taylor (Crank) is directing Hellboy: The Crooked Man, which is based on the 2008 Hellboy mini-series of the same name. Hellboy creator Mike Mignola has been tapped to write the script alongside Christopher Golden. According to Taylor, the project was pitched as an “R-rated folk horror movie” that embraces the “dark and scary and violent and adult” nature of the source material.
Hellboy: The Crooked Man will see “Hellboy and a rookie BPRD agent stranded in 1950s rural Appalachia. There, they discover a small community haunted by witches, led by a local devil with a troubling connection to Hellboy’s past: the Crooked Man.”
Production is set to get underway in Bulgaria later this month.
