The planned TV reboot of Heathers has been delayed in response to the recent incident in Florida. Paramount has decided to air the show later in the year due to being insensitive to the recent school shooting in Parkland and we think that’s probably a good idea.
The series was due to air on 7th March, but now we’re not sure when we’re going to get it. I don’t think many people have been excited about the prospect of a Heathers re-imagining , but the first footage we saw looked appropriately dark and funny. I’m always intrigued to see how a classic ‘80s flick can be rebooted for modern audiences and Heathers seemed like a story that could work.
The series promises a cameo from ’88 Heathers star Shannon Doherty, but additionally stars James Scully who will be playing the role made famous by Christian Slater and Victoria Cox, who will be playing Winona Ryder’s character of Veronica. They will join the Heathers, played by Brendan Scannell, Jasmine Matthews and Melanie Field.
