The awesome adaptation of Stephen King’s It has officially crossed the $500 million mark at the box office and can now say it has earned a whopping half a billion dollars. Did we expect this? Of course, but it is still a whopping achievement for a horror film.
It currently sits in spot number 13 of the highest grossing films – worldwide – of 2017, but is edging closer to Dunkirk’s $517 million each day. It certainly has a long way to go to beat Beauty and the Beast which is number 1 with a staggering $1,269 million.
It has been confirmed that It’s second chapter will hit the big screen on 6th September 2018, where the Losers Club’s story will continue 30 years later when they’re adults. The young cast will return to play their roles – hopefully they won’t have aged too much! – in flashback sequences from 1989. We’re excited.
Andy Muschietti will direct once again. We’re sure you’ll all be there when It Chapter 2 lands in September 2019. Check out our review of It here.
