Now that Darren Aronofsky’s Mother! has had its release date pushed forward we were expecting to see some first-look footage imminently and we weren’t wrong. Have a gander below at the deliciously sinister and freaky first-look teaser of Mother! below, which shows the film’s star Jennifer Lawrence dealing with an ominous Javier Bardem.
It’s laced with effortless suspense, mystery and intrigue as the teaser shifts from slow and seductive, to straight-up nerve-wracking. It’s the perfect tonal tease and succeeds in drip-feeding us elements of the story and characters, without showing too much. Hopefully the full-length trailer – which is to be released on 8th August – will follow suit.
Mother! additionally stars Michelle Pfeiffer, Domhnall Gleeson, Ed Harris and Kristen Wiig and will be released on 15th September 2017.
