World War Z 2 Pulled from Paramount Schedule

Posted on: February 8th, 2017

It’s a sad time for Paramount; firstly, the long-awaited and anticipated Rings has not shone at the box office and has been critically (and by audiences) derided. Secondly, it has completely scrapped the upcoming Friday the 13th film with no plans to release, ever. Now, World War Z 2 has been pulled from the schedule.

This doesn’t mean that there will be no World War Z 2, but it doesn’t look to be happening until at least 2018 or even 2019. Originally, the film was set to be directed by Juan Antonio Bayona and his departure was the first drawback last year. However, the combination of Brad Pitt returning to reprise his role and the huge success of the first World War Z, it looked like it had a future set for 9th June this year.

It’s disappointing, but there was also the announcement that Darren Aronofsky’s Mother starring Jennifer Lawrence, Michelle Pfeiffer and Domhnall Gleeson will be settling into a spot on 13th October 2017, so it’s not all bad.
