Season 1 of Stan’s Wolf Creek series may have alienated a few gorehounds with its relatively slow pace, gradual build and hushed existentialism but for those of us who appreciate the drinking up of the Outback’s desolate scenery and silent sense of menace, it was a real treat. Expectations are high from this end for the second season then, and Australian viewers can watch it now.
The new, six-part season is available now on Australian streaming service Stan, although we await news of when we can see it up here in the Northern Hemisphere.
In Season 2, “Mick Taylor sees an opportunity of a lifetime after a chance encounter with a coach full of tourists from around the globe. The unwitting travellers begin an outback adventure none of them could have imagined.”
The premise certainly suggests a higher bodycount and plenty of opportunity for frequent kills than the first season, which for the most part focused on John Jarratt’s Mick Taylor and Lucy Fry’s Eve as they hunted each other down.
Taking on Mick in season 2 will be Alien: Covenant’s Tess Haubrich, Matt Day, Ben Oxenbould, Laura Wheelwright, Stephen Hunter and Chris Haywood.
