It’s all about TV shows nowadays, with horror finding a particularly welcome home on the small screen. The Walking Dead, American Horror Story and Scream are just a few of the shows that have settled well in to an episodic format. There are plenty more on the horizon including Ash VS. Evil Dead and Friday 13th is also being planned at CW.
The next film which is set for a TV series is Australia’s Wolf Creek, which is set to have 6-episodes that will give fans a new take on the story. Wolf Creek and its sequel focus on a group of tourists who go through hell at the mercy of Mick Taylor (John Jarratt), a psychotic and frenzied killer on the hunt for helpless victims. They were a couple of great slasher films; the first was a straight-up gory game of cat and mouse and the second had a more comedic edge to it, but Mick was equally as relentless and terrifying.
‘Wolf Creek,’ a six-part drama series, is a psychological thriller set in the world that fans of the films will recognise – but this time things are different. At first the pattern is familiar: Mick Taylor targets an American tourist family to terrorise and destroy. But the tables are turned when 19-year-old Eve survives the massacre and starts to rebuild her shattered existence by embarking on a mission of revenge.
We love the addition of the revenge aspect and can’t wait to see John Jarratt return to the role and, hopefully, get a taste of his own damn medicine!
The Wolf Creek series will air on Stan in Australia in mid-2016 with all episodes available immediately, making it ready to binge instantly. Perfect!
