Announced earlier this year, Tim Burton is directing a live-action Addams Family series for Netflix centring on the character of Wednesday—and her parents have now been cast!
Simply titled Wednesday, the eight-episode series will follow Wednesday Addams’ “spooky coming-of-age.” Luis Guzmán is playing Gomez Addams, starring opposite Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams. They join the previously announced Jenna Ortega (The Babysitter: Killer Queen), who will play the titular character.
Alfred Gough and Miles Millar are writing and showrunning Wednesday. A “sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery,” the series will chart the beloved character’s years as a student at Nevermore Academy, including her attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorised the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago—all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships.”
