Irish director Jon Wright (Grabbers) is back with Unwelcome, a new creature feature centring around age-old Irish legends about the faerie folk!
The film stars Hannah John-Kamen (Black Mirror) and Douglas Booth (Pride and Prejudice and Zombies) as a couple who escape their urban nightmare to the tranquillity of rural Ireland only to hear stories of mysterious beings who live in the gnarled, ancient wood at the foot of their new garden. As warned by their new neighbours, in Irish mythology, the Redcaps will come when called to help souls in dire need of rescue. But it’s crucial to remember that there is always a dear price to pay for their aid…
Colm Meaney (Layer Cake), Jamie-Lee O’Donnell (Derry Girls), Chris Walley (The Young Offenders), and Kristian Nairn (Game of Thrones) also star in Unwelcome, which was based on an original screenplay by Mark Stay. Warner Bros. Entertainment will handle the film’s UK and Ireland release, which is slated for Spring 2022. In the US, Well Go USA Entertainment will release the film in theatres on March 17th, 2022, before it hits shudder later that year. In the meantime, check out the trailer below!
