With only three weeks to go before Sony’s Until Dawn adaption hits theatres, it seems we have our final update.
With the tide of public opinion continuing to turn in favour of the video game adaption, it’s undoubtedly news that will put fans further at ease.
We can confirm that David F. Sandberg’s Until Dawn has been rated “R” by the MPA for:
“Bloody horror violence, gore and language throughout.”
Some were initially sceptical that Until Dawn would forgo the game’s generous helping of gore, and settle for a PG-13 rating.
However, given the endless cycle of death within the film, we’re not exactly sure how such a low rating would even be possible.
Now, with those final doubts put to rest, we’d say that Until Dawn stands a reasonable chance at the box-office, despite initially facing a torrent of backlash.
In the film:
“One year after her sister Melanie mysteriously disappeared, Clover and her friends head into the remote valley where she vanished in search of answers. They find themselves horrifically murdered, only to wake up and find themselves back at the beginning. Trapped in an endless time loop, they’re forced to relive the nightmare again – only each time, the killer is different, each more terrifying than the last, and the only way to escape is to survive until dawn.”
Until Dawn stars Ella Rubin, Michael Cimino, Ji-young Yoo, and Odessa A’zion. The movie will hit screens on April 25th 2025, and you can check out the final trailer again below:
