The first trailer has been unleashed for Gareth Evans’ Apostle and it looks freaking fantastic. From the director of The Raid franchise, it looks unnerving and unexpected. Dan Stevens looks to be giving a striking performance as a man who searches for his missing sister.
We love the eerie atmosphere and the creepy soundtrack that bolsters the film’s horror centre. It also looks beautifully shot, with a location that emphasises the supernatural and occult themes of the story. All hail Gareth Evans. And Dan Stevens.
Synopsis:
The year is 1905. Thomas Richardson travels to a remote island to rescue his sister after she’s kidnapped by a mysterious religious cult demanding a ransom for her safe return. It soon becomes clear that the cult will regret the day it baited this man, as he digs deeper and deeper into the secrets and lies upon which the commune is built.
In addition to Stevens, Apostle will star Michael Sheen, Lucy Boynton, Bill Millner and Kristine Froseth. Look out for film on 12th October on Netflix.
