In the wake of the recent mass shootings in the U.S., Universal Pictures has pulled Blumhouse’s The Hunt from its planned September release date.
In the film, twelve strangers are captured by rich, liberal elites and hunted for sport. Universal had already paused The Hunt’s marketing campaign following the tragic attacks in El Paso, Texas, Dayton, Ohio, and Gilroy, California, but announced in a press release that “now is not the right time to release the film.” It may be released at a later date, though only time will tell.
