While US audiences will be watching Gore Verbinski’s much-hyped A Cure for Wellness this week, here in the UK we’ll have to wait just a little bit longer, with the film released here on February 24th. Until then however, we can juice up on this new UK trailer for the film, which sees a young executive sent to retrieve his boss from a mysterious Alpine health spa, where all is not as it seems. In keeping with the film’s previous marketing, the trailer initially seems like a high-end promotional video, but culminates with some pretty insane visuals.
The awesome Dane DeHaan (Chronicle, Life After Beth) stars as the company employee sent to the spa, with Jason Isaacs as his CEO, alongside Nymphomaniac Vol. II’s Mia Goth (who stars in the upcoming Suspiria remake) and Celia Imrie (Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein).
An ambitious young executive is sent to retrieve his company’s CEO from an idyllic but mysterious “wellness center” at a remote location in the Swiss Alps. He soon suspects that the spa’s miraculous treatments are not what they seem. When he begins to unravel its terrifying secrets, his sanity is tested, as he finds himself diagnosed with the same curious illness that keeps all the guests here longing for the cure.
Already drawing comparisons to the work of Stanley Kubrick and David Cronenberg, A Cure for Wellness is sure to be good for what ails you.
