Seriously, IFC Midnight is just getting greedy now. The latest addition to their ever-growing horror catalogue comes from André Øvredal, who directed 2010’s sublime found footage monster movie Troll Hunter. A UK production from the Norwegian filmmaker, The Autopsy of Jane Doe will hit US cinemas courtesy of the horror specialists.
The film has a strong cast led by Brian Cox (The Ring, Zodiac) and Emile Hirsch (Killer Joe, Lords of Dogtown), who play father and son coroners. Guardians of the Galaxy’s Ophelia Lovibond and Michael McElhatton (The Hallow, Game of Thrones) also star.
Two coroners – a father and son – receive a mysterious homicide victim with no apparent cause of death. As they attempt to identify the beautiful young “Jane Doe,” they discover increasingly bizarre clues that hold the key to her terrifying secrets.
The film, which was shot in London, is yet to receive a release date either in the UK or US.
