The kids in the poster for Hellions aren’t after your Halloween treats, I’m afraid. They’re after your unborn baby. Your boyfriend’s head in probably one of those bags, too. Putting these terrible intentions to one side, the poster for Hellions is really quite lovely. The simple black and white photography makes for a beautiful contrast to the blood, and the three little villains that take centre stage are rather foreboding.
Synopsis:
Hellions takes place on Halloween night in the town of Waterford, the so-called Pumpkin Capital of the World. Hidden among the trick-or-treaters, a group of masked demonic beings roam the town and come upon Dora, a teenager home alone for the night. Cut off from the outside world and under siege in her isolated home, Dora will need to defend both her body and soul from the relentless evil beings known as hellions.
Hellions comes from Bruce McDonald, who you may know as the director of Pontypool; a claustrophobic, unique and surprisingly tense zombie flick. Take a look at the trailer and images below and enjoy the striking, gothic visual style.
Hellions is certainly going down the homage route, with immediate comparisons to Trick ‘r’ Treat and Halloween springing to mind. Hopefully it will be able to stand on its own two feet, though.
