The first official trailer is here for Ju-On: Origins, a Netflix Original Series that goes back to the roots of the classic J-Horror franchise. Kickstarted by Takashi Shimizu’s Ju-On: The Curse in 2000, the Ju-On series is currently 13 films deep, including the American remake, The Grudge, and its sequels, and a cross-over with The Ring franchise.
“The J-Horror classic franchise Ju-On was actually based on real events that occurred over four decades—and the truth is even more terrifying,” reads Netflix’s description of the new series. “Can the people haunted by this house escape from its curse? And what kind of grim incident occurred in this cursed house in the past?”
Ju-On: Origins will debut on the streaming platform on July 3rd. Catch the curse by watching the new trailer below!
