Jacob Tremblay (Doctor Sleep, Before I Wake) has been cast in Legendary Entertainment’s upcoming remake of the 1984 Troma movie The Toxic Avenger.
Macon Blair (who starred in 2015’s Green Room) is set to write and direct the film, which Deadline notes will be a “contemporary reimagining” of the Troma classic. Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones) will also star.
In the original Toxic Avenger, a meek mop boy called Melvin falls into a vat of toxic waste—transforming him into an unlikely superhero. Now, evildoers will have a lot to lose.
