TOUCH NOT THE HORSE: Book Review

Posted on: January 28th, 2016

SKU-001005279Having dedicated himself to writing and publishing his debut novel, the supernatural thriller ‘Touch not the Horse’, Anthony Gavali has also recorded, complete with effects and music, an audio version.

Anthony worked for 20 years in the finance world and knows all about equity, foreign exchange, fixed income investment and the like, and of course has come across various shenanigans (by others) in his career. He bought his first shares when he was 19 and has a passion for finance and figures. He incorporates this experience into the first part of the story, which is set in the finance sector in London.

The story is suffused with fantastic supernatural and horrific events, which speaks volumes for his imagination. There are characters who practice the evil black arts and others who are relatively ethical and pure, but who yet are harbouring mystical powers. The book gradually sucks you in and by the second and third parts the reader will be hooked.

The only character in the book that really knows what’s going on is Girlie, the mystical horse at the centre of the story. The horse is based on a horse that Anthony rescued a number of years ago. The story is set in London, Sussex and Australia and gradually builds through a series of supernatural events, which in turn become more and more gruesome, culminating in the story’s epilogue, a tour-de-force of horrific drama that ends the tale with scenes that match any Hollywood gorefest. Well worth the read. Visit www.touchnotthehorse.co.uk for further info.
