Last month, we brought you the news that Blink Twice star Naomi Ackie had joined the cast of sequel They Follow.
Ackie joined returning star Maika Monroe aboard the highly-anticipated follow-up to 2015’s indie hit It Follows.
Now, we have further casting details, as several other names have joined the project.
Jackie Earle Haley, arguably best known for his 2010 turn as Freddy Krueger, is undoubtedly the biggest name announced.
The Many Saints of Newark star Michael Gandolfini is also aboard They Follow, alongside Tom Pecinka, Melora Walters, Ben Krieger, Natalie Shinnick, and Jan Hoag
Whilst plot details for the sequel are remaining closely guarded, we do know that the movie will be bigger in scale than the 2015 original.
Filmmaker David Robert Mitchell is set to return as both director and screenwriter. Mitchell joins Maika Monroe, who will reprise her role as Jay Height.
Of the sequel and what audiences can expect, Monroe recently said:
“It’s very different from the original. The original is a little more heightened and dramatic, and this is really quite grounded and follows the story of these two women that are mentally dealing with a lot. I thought it was really an interesting take on it.”
Production is expected to begin this summer, but They Follow is currently without a release date.
According to reliable sources, NEON and Good Fear Films will bring the film to screens sometime in 2027.
We’ll let you know as soon as we have any further They Follow updates!
