A handful of photos have leaked from the set of Alien: Covenant and they show a lot of death and destruction. It’s uncertain exactly what we’re looking at, but from the looks of things, a large group of Engineers or humans have met their demise as they clamber up a set of ancient stairs. It’s pretty gruesome, showing that the beings have been, literally, halted in their tracks by some kind of apocalyptic nightmare.
Alien: Covenant marks the beginning of a new Alien trilogy, but also acts as a sequel to Prometheus as it closes the gap between the 2012 film and Ridley Scott’s original Alien. The story follows a crew aboard the ship Covenant who land on a dangerous world that has only one inhabitant: David (Michael Fassbender).
