Jigsaw is back in his rightful spot at Halloween as the trailer for the eighth Saw film, aptly titled Jigsaw, is set for release this October. The first trailer for the sequel film has now been released and teases the supremely polished, but extremely terrifying development of the Saw saga.
The trailer shows the brand new tormenting traps that Jigsaw is set to unleash as a copycat killer attempts to continue Jigsaw’s infamous reign of tortuous terror. Surprisingly, it actually looks rather good. The story appears to be moving in a new direction while still staying true to Saw’s sick agenda.
You’ll get a look at Billy the puppet and the iconic pig mask, which admittedly, are great to welcome back. The previous sequels may not have been great, but I’m willing to forgive and forget if this one can deliver the goods.
Jigsaw has been helmed by the Spierig Brothers (Daybreakers), who direct a script written by Piranha 3D’s scribes Josh Stolberg and Pete Goldfinger. The film stars Mandela Van Peebles, Laura Vandervoort, Brittany Allen, Callum Keith Rennie, Matt Passmore, Hannah Emily Anderson, Josiah Black, Shaquan Lewis, Michael Bolsvert, and James Gomez. Despite Jigsaw himself being dead, Tobin Bell will be back in some way, too.
