This summer, things are going to get very scary with the Guillermo del Toro-produced adaptation of Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark. We now have our first look at some of the film’s creatures in a handful of short and sweet teasers. Prepare to meet Pale Lady, Big Toe, Jangly Man and a face spider. Eek!
Synopsis:
It’s l968 in America. Change is blowing in the wind…but seemingly far removed from the unrest in the cities is the small town of Mill Valley where for generations, the shadow of the Bellows family has loomed large. It is in their mansion on the edge of town that Sarah, a young girl with horrible secrets, turned her tortured life into a series of scary stories, written in a book that has transcended time—stories that have a way of becoming all too real for a group of teenagers who discover Sarah’s terrifying tome.
The film is directed by The Autopsy of Jane Doe and Trollhunter’s Andre Ovredal, so we’re expecting a truly chilling adaptation of the books that were released between 1981 and 1991. The trilogy of novels featured over 80 short stories including The Haunted House, The Ghost with Bloody Fingers and The Dead Hand. They’re all unique and twisted tales, so we can’t wait to see them on the big screen and these first looks are extremely promising.
Look out for Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark on 9th August 2019. The film stars Zoe Colletti, Michael Garza, Gabriel Rush, Austin Abrams, Dean Norris, Kathleen Pollard, Gil Bellows, Lorraine Toussaint, Austin Zajur and Natalie Ganzhorn,
