T.L Oberheu’s debut into fiction has been lurking in the deep waters of the internet for a few months now. Those that found and discussed the collection of short horror stories have said something along the lines of: “I wasn’t prepared for this.”
The book, which might have been started in 2014 or even 2003 (Oberheu isn’t sure himself but explains those bizarre circumstances in the Afterword) consists of 27 terrifying stories where all the sub-genres within the realm of Horror are represented. Crime thrillers, psychological horror, sci-fi horror, dystopian, and of course the staple WTF that every horror book needs.
There is more here than just simple shock value, each story was written for a reason. Sort of like an Aesop’s Fables for the deranged modern world, every tale is meant to tell you something, toxic traits you or others close to you may have, and how those will inevitably summon monsters, internal or external.
“The Shadow Dies Loudly: 27 Tales” can be found in nearly every online book retailer out there.
