Russell Crowe stars as legendary Italian priest Father Gabriele Amorth in The Pope’s Exorcist—and the official trailer has emerged from the pit!
Julius Avery (Overlord) directed The Pope’s Exorcist, which also stars Franc Nero (John Wick: Chapter 2), Alex Essoe (Doctor Sleep), Daniel Zovatto (It Follows), Laurel Marsden (Ms. Marvel), Cornell S. John (Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald), and Peter DeSouza-Feighoney. Ralph Ineson (The Witch) voices the demon in the film.
Inspired by the actual files of Father Gabriele Amorth, Chief Exorcist of the Vatican, The Pope’s Exorcist “follows Amorth as he investigates a young boy’s terrifying possession and ends up uncovering a centuries-old conspiracy the Vatican has desperately tried to keep hidden.” The most recent draft of the script was written by Evan Spiliotopoulos, with revisions by Chuck MacLean, and was based on original drafts by Chester Hasting and R. Dean McCreary, which were revised by Michael Petroni.
