IFC Midnight has shared a new trailer and poster for director Kourosh Ahari’s psychological horror movie The Night, the first U.S.-produced film to receive a license for theatrical release in Iran since the revolution.
In the film, Babak (Shahab Hosseini) and Neda (Niousha Noor), an exhausted married couple, take shelter in the grand but eerie Hotel Normandie along with their baby after a night out with friends. Throughout a seemingly endless night, mysterious disturbances ruin their night’s rest—and the couple soon realizes they’re locked-in with a malevolent force that hungers for the dark secrets they’ve kept from one another.
Ahari also co-wrote The Night alongside Milad Jarmooz. The film opens in select theatres, on digital platforms, and on VOD in the U.S. on January 29th.
