The Monster is Mankind in the Poster for Frankenstein

Posted on: November 5th, 2015

The first poster has been unveiled for Bernard Rose’s (Candyman) adaptation of Mary Shelley’s classic novel Frankenstein, and it puts a stamp on who the monsters really are.  Mankind, of course! If you’re familiar with the story and its countless number of adaptations, then you’re going to know this already. However, it’s nice to have it in plain writing, right?

Frankenstein PosterSynopsis:
Frankenstein is set in present day Los Angeles and told entirely from the perspective of the Monster. After he is artificially created, then left for dead by a husband-and-wife team of eccentric scientists, Adam is confronted with nothing but aggression and violence from the world around him. This perfect creation-turned disfigured monster must come to grips with the horrific nature of humanity.

You can check out the poster (right), it’s a great portrait of the literal mind of the ‘Monster’ which is filled with humans’ wrongdoings and his hideous entry in the world. You can read our highly positive review of the film here and hopefully it will persuade you to check out the worthy addition to the Frankenstein myth.

Frankenstein stars Xavier Samuel (The Loved Ones, Bait), Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix, Suspect Zero) and Danny Huston (American Horror Story).
