The release of third-person psychological horror game The Medium is drawing ever closer, and in the latest trailer, developer Bloober Team teases a new character—and a new threat.
Utilizing patented dual-reality gameplay and an original soundtrack co-composed by Arkadiusz Reikowski and Akira Yamaoka, the game will challenge players to uncover a dark mystery that only a medium can solve. Explore the real world and the spirit world at the same time, uncover deeply disturbing secrets, and survive encounters with The Maw, a monster born from unspeakable tragedy.
“There are more sides to the mystery of The Medium,” notes the video’s description. “A new character, whose appearance is based on Polish actor Marcin Dorociński and whose name will be made known when the time is right, enters the stage and ups the stakes, while The Maw turns out to not be the only bloodthirsty monster out there.”
The Medium will release for the PC and Xbox Series via Steam, the Microsoft Store, and Xbox Game Pass on January 28, 2021. Take a peek at the new trailer—and the new threat—below.
