“A lot of people die in a lot of really weird ways in this story… But you’re not going to find it in the news.”
There’s just over a month to go until Zach Cregger’s Weapons releases to theatres. So, Warner Bros. have decided to continue their evocative marketing campaign by giving us the final trailer.
Whilst plenty happens in the short clip, we still have no idea what any of it means…
Whereas the first teaser and full trailer opted to concentrate on the mysterious disappearance of an entire class of children, this clip concentrates on the town of Maybrook.
After seventeen children from one class vanish into the night, suspicion falls on their teacher, Miss Justine Gandy. Without a clue where the children have vanished to, we witness Justine become an outsider in the community, as she takes the investigation into her own hands.
However, it appears that it’s not only the children who are in danger, as the entire town of Maybrook slowly erupts into chaos.
Residents begin to experience horrific deaths, some appearing self-inflicted, and some at the hands of others. What is happening to this tiny hamlet? Why have seventeen children vanished without a trace? And what sinister force lurks in the woods beyond the seemingly idyllic community?
We just… don’t know, and it’s that mystery that makes Weapons so exciting to audiences. The second trailer garnered an impressive 7 million views in its first 48 hours, with viewers praising the mysterious and non-linear approach to marketing the film.
Weapons stars Josh Brolin, Julia Garner, Austin Abrahams, Amy Madigan, and Benedict Wong.
The film will release via Warner Bros. on August 8th 2025.
