A24 has dated the release of The Hole in the Ground, confirming that it will hit cinemas in March 2019.
The film has been likened to The Babadook and follows what unravels when a single mother’s son goes missing in the forest. All appears to be well when he returns, but she soon realises he’s not the same person he was before.
The film comes from director Lee Cronin who, aside from directing a few short films, directed the Ghost Train segment from 2016’s Minutes Past Midnight. He will direct a script written by himself and Stephen Shields (Zombie Bashers, Republic of Telly).
A24 will release The Hole in the Ground in cinemas and DirectTV will offer a limited pay-per-view option beforehand.
