“What are you waiting for…?”
With less than a month to go before Sony’s I Know What You Did Last Summer legacy sequel hits screens, it’s the perfect time to unleash a final trailer.
Giving us a much better look at the film, the final trailer includes a surprising amount of chase scene action.
Akin to the brutality on display in 1998’s I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, it’s clear our new fisherman is a force to be reckoned with.
Using an array of nautically themed weapons, it’s evident our new killer is very fond of their craft. Ropes, a spear gun, and a filleting knife are among the arsenal displayed. However, that trusty docking hook is never far from our killer’s side.
Aside from whetting our appetite with slasher carnage, the trailer also gives us a better look at our new cast. Alongside them, we are treated to some welcome appearances by legacy actors Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr.
Hewitt’s Julie James is seen offering advice to the cast, before seemingly coming face-to-face with the fisherman, and reprising an iconic line from the 1997 original. Prinze Jr. is glimpsed pointing a gun at someone unseen, as well as leaping onto a moving boat.
As well as seeing more of the legacy cast, a few familiar locations from the original can also be briefly glimpsed.
Looking like a bloody good time, the trailer promises us, “karma is killer…” And we have no reason to argue, given what we’ve seen.
Alongside Hewitt and Prinze, Last Summer stars Chase Sui Wonders, Madelyn Cline, Tariq Withers, Jonah Hauer-King, Sarah Pidgeon, and Nicholas Alexander Chavez.
