Following a brief pause over the holidays, production is back underway on director David Gordon Green’s The Exorcist sequel, and we’ve got some fresh casting news to share with you! Raphael Sbarge (Once Upon a Time) has joined the cast, along with newcomer Olivia Marcum.
Sbarge will play a pastor in the film, which will star Leslie Odom Jr. as the father of a possessed child. Desperate for help, Odom Jr.’s character tracks down Regan’s mother Chris MacNeil, played by returning star Ellen Burstyn.
The cast also includes Ann Dowd (Hereditary) and Lidya Jewett (Nightbooks).
This Exorcist is the first in a planned trilogy in the works over at Universal, Blumhouse, and Morgan Creek. The film is slated to get a theatrical release on October 13th, 2023, just in time for Halloween.
