It’s the middle of summer, and you know what that means, right? Exactly, it’s that exciting time when the studios start dropping the promo for the spooky season line-up commencing in the fall. We’ve already seen a tantalising taste of this with the recent trailer drops for Five Nights at Freddy’s, The Nun 2 and Cobweb… However, there’s one that genre fans just can’t wait to get a look at, and it’s coming very soon!

Everything has fallen relatively quiet in terms of updates from David Gordon Green’s Exorcist legacy sequel, The Exorcist: Believer. The last we heard was that a test screening had achieved rather sub-par results. Soon after that, Green took to the Blumhouse YouTube page to assure fans that his team were “working hard” to finish the film and craft the most enthralling experience possible. His announcement assured us that the original release date remained in place and the movie would still be playing theatrically, shooting down rumours that Universal were weighing up sending the film straight-to-streaming as a result of the test audience response.

Now, given Green’s confident announcement, fans are more than a little eager to get our first look at the legacy sequel. When is the trailer coming? Well, very soon… Insiders suggest that something will drop within the next few weeks, specifically the end of July or into August at the very latest. Going by Universal’s track record with Green’s Halloween trilogy, this seems accurate, each movie having a June-July promo cycle for an October release.

We will get our first peek at this already divisive film in the very near future, just watch this space, as we’ll be sure to bring it to you when it arrives.
