Warner Bros has just announced that The Conjuring 2 will be scaring cinema-goers from October 2015. The sequel to last year’s ghost-centric chiller will appeal to the Halloween crowd by opening on the 23rd of October, just a few weeks after spin-off Annabelle, which is set for October 3rd.
Original Conjuring writing team Carey and Chad Hayes are back onboard, as are stars Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga as paranormal investigators Lorraine and Ed Warren. There’s no official word on the plot yet, though rumours have already circulated that the film could revolve around the haunting of two sisters in Enfield, London.
One person apparently not returning for a second go is director James Wan. Last year, Wan announced that The Conjuring would be his last horror film, calling it his “swan song to the genre”. Hopefully this won’t be the case as we’re big fans of the man.
