Director Rob Savage (Host) returns with The Boogeyman, a new horror film based on the Stephen King short story of the same name, and the official trailer has crept out of the closet.
In The Boogeyman: “Still reeling from the tragic death of their mother, a teenage girl and her little brother find themselves plagued by a sadistic presence in their house and struggle to get their grieving father to pay attention before it’s too late.”
Sophie Thatcher (Yellowjackets), Chris Messina (Birds of Prey), David Dastmalchian (The Suicide Squad), Marlin Ireland (Y: The Last Man), Vivien Lyra Blair (Bird Box), and Madison Hu (Voyagers) star in The Boogeyman. The original drafts of the script were written by Scott Beck and Bryan Woods (A Quiet Place) and Akela Cooper (Malignant), with Mark Heyman (Black Swan) later brought on board.
This is the first feature adaptation of the King short story, which first appeared in 1978 as part of King’s Night Shift collection. Originally planned for a direct-to-Hulu release, The Boogeyman will instead creep into theatres on June 2nd, 2023.
