We’re just a little less than a month away from the release of Gun Media’s hotly anticipated Texas Chain Saw Massacre: The Game!
Due to be unleashed 50 years to the day that Tobe Hooper’s classic film is set, IGN decided to give us our best look yet at the game to tide us over until August 18th.
To say this game is gnarly would perhaps be the understatement of the century… It’s all here folks, disembowelling, slashing, stabbing, impaling… Everything to keep even the most ravenous gore fiend satiated.
The trailer begins with The Cook berating his kin, telling them they must get out there and get to work. This brief clip gives us our first look at the famous gas station with a side of Texas Barbecue, and it doesn’t disappoint.
The next thirty seconds are filled with quick cuts of chases, stabbings, desperate attempts at escaping, hiding and finally a jump scare that would be right at home on the big screen.
Gun Interactive look to have pulled out all the stops with this one, with the graphics seeming like a considerable step up from their previous offering Friday the 13th: The Game.
Last we heard of this pending release, it had just completed its technical run, and whilst it received praise for its graphics, tension and attention to detail, there was one glaring issue. Most players reported that the villains were just too slow, unable to catch their intended victims and presenting very little sport for either player. It is hoped that Gun has taken this feedback on board and fixed the issue, however, we will not know until the game releases.
Texas Chain Saw Massacre: The Game is available for pre-order now, both online and from all good physical media outlets, and will be available to play August 18th 2023. You can check out the IGN trailer below:
