It’s difficult to put in to words exactly what is happening in the trailer for The Hive, but I do know that it looks terrifying and freaking amazing. Described as Evil Dead meets Memento, it looks like horror perfection. It’s a possession film, a love story and a post-apocalyptic adventure all in one. One character declares, “What the hell is going on?!” and that sums up the entire trailer. Despite making very little sense, the trailer is slick and completely engrossing. It moves at the speed of a train from scene to scene, making sure you can’t truly grasp what exactly is happening, but remaining engrossing and interesting until the mental final seconds. The sound design adds to the madness and helps create a fantastic, original and perfect trailer; one that doesn’t give away too much but succeeds at getting your attention. Wonderful.
Synopsis:
Adam, a teenage camp counselor wakes inside a boarded up cabin, with absolutely no memory of who he is or where he is. The only clues as to who he is and what’s happening are messages Adam has scrawled for himself onto the walls and disturbing changes to his physiology. As he begins to piece together the events that led him to his strange imprisonment, he realizes that the only memories he does have are not his own, and they may be the key to his survival.
Take a look at the trailer and images below; they truly showcase the horrifying beauty within The Hive. I am beyond excited for this and I hope you are, too.
