Lauren LaVera recently had the honour of being in the world’s number one movie with Terrifier 3. Currently having grossed over $45 million against a $2 million budget, LaVera’s Sienna Shaw has become the breakout star of the franchise. Her final girl props have been lauded, and the actress is rapidly on the rise as a Scream Queen.
It’s more than fitting then, that LaVera is next set to headline another high-profile genre project helmed by frequent Saw alumni Darren Lynn Bousmann.
Entitled The Monster, the film is set to follow:
“Two millennials who make quick money by leasing incredible New York City apartments they don’t own to people who don’t know they are being scammed. The con works brilliantly until they run into an apartment owner with a dark secret who flips the game on them.”
LaVera will share the screen with two-time Academy Award Nominee Djimon Hounsou, currently best known for his role in the A Quiet Place franchise.
Mark Burg, longtime Saw producer, will produce The Monster for Envision Media Arts, alongside Lee Nelson and David Tish. Jonathan Bernstein and James Greer of Steven Soderbergh’s Unsane have penned the script, so it’s safe to say The Monster is in very good hands.
Principal photography is expected to begin in November in Danbury, Connecticut, although no release date is in place at the time of this writing.
