Billy’s back!
Last year, it was widely reported that Black Christmas star Olivia Hussey would be reprising her role as Jess Bradford for the first time in 50 years. Hussey was wooed by filmmakers Dave McRae and Bruce Dale to return, after being highly impressed by their Black Christmas fan film, 2021’s It’s Me, Billy, agreeing to participate in its sequel. Sadly, we can confirm that Hussey had to step away from the project, under doctor’s orders, which was not widely reported. Canadian actress Lisa Kovack will instead be appearing as Jess in the upcoming fan film.
Now, we have our look at the sequel, It’s Me, Billy: Chapter 2:
“Jess is Alive! Hidden deep within the walls of Jess Bradford’s mansion lies the evidence that will exonerate her former boyfriend Peter Smythe and expose the real 1974 Bedford killers. Picking up immediately where chapter 1 ended, Sam and her grandmother, now trapped and alone, must fight back against the clutches of Christmas evil before they’re swallowed by its darkness.”
Seeking to tie up all the loose ends from the 1974 classic, Chapter 2 also stars original cast member Lynne Griffin. Previously playing Clair Harrison, Billy’s unfortunate first victim, now she plays Clair’s sister. A hardened detective, she’s been searching for her sister’s killer for fifty years… and she thinks Jess Bradford might have the answers she seeks.
Previous chapter lead Victoria Mero reprises her role as Sam Bradford, Jess’ granddaughter, who has just survived her own run-in with Billy.
Of the sequel, the filmmakers issued the following statement:
“When we began this journey in 2019, our goal was to honor the original Black Christmas in the form of an unofficial fan sequel packaged in a professional product from top to bottom. But we knew we could only take the story so far, hence the cliffhanger ending of Chapter 1. We are so thankful that Black Christmas and horror fans from around the world stepped up and donated to our Indiegogo campaign so we could finish our story. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the original Black Christmas, and we are beyond thrilled to bring our two-part series and unofficial sequel to a close. We are truly honored to be a small part of an incredible legacy, and we thank horror and Black Christmas fans from around the world for their continued support.”
