Following up on August’s chilling first teaser, a new trailer has thawed for Cold Ground, a film being billed as the first French found-footage flick.
The film takes place in 1976, in the French Alps, where young journalists Melissa and David set out to investigate strange reports of cattle mutilations. Trekking through the mountains to the French-Swiss border, they arrive to find the team of scientists they were due to meet have disappeared. Escorted by a first-aider, the pair head deeper into the mountains to search for the missing team.
Cold Ground was written and directed by Fabien Delage, and stars Gala Besson (Horsehead), Geoffrey Blandin (Dead Crossroads), Doug Rand (The Transporter) and Phillip Schurer (Black Venus), while introducing Maura Tillay and Fabrice Pierre.
The film, which stands out from the found footage pack in a visual sense due to its 1970s setting, has played a long festival run and picked up awards along the way. A release date is yet to be announced.
