Developer Game Grumps and publisher Rogue Games, Inc. have announced a new narrative-driven survival horror puzzle game called Homebody where the goal is to catch up with old friends… and not get murdered.
In the game: “Emily and her college buddies have gathered at a remote rental house to watch the Perseid meteor shower. They try to rekindle the bonds they once had, but lingering emotional wounds and social anxieties leave Emily feeling more alone than ever.
“When the power suddenly goes out, it’s almost a relief. But under the cover of darkness, a mysterious killer picks them off one by one. If Emily can’t find a way out, she’ll be trapped in this nightmare forever.”
Homebody will see players solving devious puzzles, unlocking secrets, tracking their progress in a dynamic in-game clue journal, and facing down a surprising and responsive enemy AI system that ensures no two encounters are ever the same. The game’s nostalgic style is inspired by 80s slashers and retro horror games.
Homebody is “coming soon” and will be available for the PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. Check out the announcement trailer below.
