Blue Box Game Studios has announced a new first-person horror survival shooter called Abandoned, which is set to release for the PlayStation 5 in Q4 2021.
In the game, players will step into the shoes of Jason Longfield, who wakes up in a strange forest with no memory of how he got there. But soon enough, Jason finds out he was kidnapped and brought to the forest for sinister purposes. Now, he must fight to escape—and survive.
PlayStation Blog notes that Abandoned is “set in a highly detailed open world environment and favours a realistic approach to survival.” This will play out in ways like the character getting out of breath after sprinting, causing his accuracy when shooting to temporarily suffer. To encourage players to think tactfully before resorting to guns, the shooting mechanics themselves will be purposely slow.
A full gameplay video is expected soon. In the meantime, check out the announcement teaser below.
