The Stranger Things producer-director Shawn Levy has announced his next project as the sci-fi feature Crater. Written by John J. Griffin, the project has been acquired by FOX and is described as a “coming-of-age story in the vein of Stand By Me, set on a moon colony”.
Synopsis:
After the death of his father, a boy growing up on a lunar mining colony takes a trip to explore a legendary crater, along with his four best friends, prior to being permanently relocated to another planet.
It definitely sounds like a project that is right up the street of someone who’s worked on Stranger Things. Levy is also attached to direct the remake of the ‘80s sci-fi romance Starman, which was originally directed by John Carpenter. Details on that are scarce, but that is also something you should be keeping an eye out for.
