In an interview with Emmy Magazine the young actor Finn Wolfhard, who plays Mike in Stranger Things, said that the next season is going to be more about the horror. That’s great news for genre fans and those who are keen to see more of the monstrous world of the Upside Down.
He goes on to say:
“I think this season will be a lot [darker]. I think people are going to like it more than the first season.”
Like it more than the first season? Impossible!
The Duffer Brothers previously opened up about the new season and confirmed the horror focus when they said season 2 will explore “different kinds of horror”. It definitely sounds like everyone involved is keen to attract those hard-to-please horror fans and, rightly so, because we deserve some sci-fi horror goodness.
Plot details have been scarce, but the arrival of brother-sister duo Billy (Dacre Montgomery) and Max (Sadie Sink) is sure to shake things up. The cast additionally features Winona Ryder, Charlie Heaton, Sean Astin, David Harbour, Natalia Dyer, Billie Bobby Brown, Caleb McLaughlin and Gaten Matarazzo.
Stranger Things season 2 will hit Netflix this Halloween and it couldn’t come any sooner.
