Actor Stephen Lang has confirmed – again – that a sequel to 2016’s hit horror-thriller Don’t Breathe will be getting a sequel. Soon after the film’s release, director Fede Alvarez (Evil Dead) confirmed that a sequel was on the way. Sam Raimi described the sequel extremely positively saying: “It’s only the greatest idea for a sequel that I’ve ever heard! I’m not kidding!”
All’s been very quiet on the sequel front and Alvarez has since signed on to direct The Girl in the Spider’s Web with The Crown’s Claire Foy. However, Lang recently spoke to Screen Rant and confirmed: “Oh yeah, we’re doing a sequel.” Details were sparse, but it’s still great to learn that a follow-up is still in the works.
The Don’t Breathe ending was almost neatly tied up, but with *SPOILER* as Rocky escaped with the blind man’s money, there’s plenty of room for the events to continue. The original ending saw the man follow Rocky with the cash, so perhaps the sequel will follow from there. OR it could be a prequel, explaining how the first girl became imprisoned in the man’s basement.
Maybe we’ll get that sequel to 2013’s Evil Dead, too? Not!
