Directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead became hot property following their impressive romantic drama/monster movie hybrid Spring in 2015, and are back with another film which blurs the boundaries of genre, entitled The Endless. Rave reviews followed the film’s recent screening at Tribeca, and Well Go USA have snapped it up for a 2018 theatrical release.
The sci-fi horror is the third feature from Benson and Moorhead, who also star as two brothers who return to the death cult they fled from a decade ago, only to discover that there may be more truth behind the group’s sinister beliefs than the brothers had realised.
The Endless also stars Tate Ellington (Sinister 2), Emily Montague (Fright Night), Lew Temple (The Devil’s Rejects, The Walking Dead) and Spring’s Vinny Curran.
The co-directors made the following statement following the deal with Well Go:
“The Endless is a film made hand-over-fist with an incredible crew, and ourselves wearing many hats, out of a conviction that audiences truly do want left-of-center, meaningful independent films. Well Go throwing their theatrical support behind us shows a shared belief that the box office is more than just superheroes. Audiences will be able to see The Endless at its best: sound cranked up in a dark theater, sharing the experience with movie lovers like ourselves.”
An early 2018 big screen release will be followed by digital and home video releases.
