Ahead of its world premiere at the SXSW Film Festival next month, writer-director Alex Noyer’s Sound of Violence has dropped a teaser trailer that takes ASMR to a whole new level…
The film centres around Alexis who, haunted by childhood trauma, composes music through torture and pain. As a child, the brutal murder of her family made her regain her previously-lost hearing along with synesthetic abilities. Now an adult, she’s told she might lose her hearing again, so she escalates her gruesome sound experiments in a quest to compose her masterpiece, turning her supportive roommate Marie into the unknowing acolyte to her destructive process.
Jasmin Savoy Brown (The Leftovers) stars in the film as Alexis. The cast also includes Lili Simmons (Bone Tomahawk), James Jagger (Bit), and Tessa Munro (Held).
Gravitas Ventures has already scooped up the North American rights to Sound of Violence and plans to release the film in theatres and on demand on May 21st. Put on your headphones and check out the teaser trailer below.
