Shin’ichirô Ueda’s One Cut of the Dead will be released on Shudder’s streaming service sometime later this year, but some horror fans may get to see it even sooner. Shudder will be bringing the acclaimed Japanese zombie-comedy to theaters in New York and Los Angeles starting September 13th, followed by a one-night-only release in select cities on September 17th.
A loving tribute to low-budget filmmaking, One Cut of the Dead opens on a real zombie attack taking place during the filming of a zombie movie. To say anymore than that would be to spoil the whole movie, so you’ll just have to watch it for yourself. We raved about the film after catching it at What The Fest!? in NYC earlier this year; you can read our full, spoiler-free review here.
