Shudder has boarded The Sacrifice Game, a new horror movie from director Jenn Wexler, who made her debut in 2018 with the punk rock slasher The Ranger.
The film, which begins shooting this month, is set at a girls’ boarding school over Christmas break, 1971. Samantha and Clara, two students who are staying behind for the holidays, must survive the night against uninvited visitors.
The Sacrifice Game reunites Wexler with The Ranger star Chloë Levine. The film’s cast also includes Mena Massoud (Aladdin), Olivia Scott Welch (Fear Street), Gus Kenworthy (American Horror Story: 1984), Derek Johns, Laurent Pitre, Madison Baines, and Georgia Acken. Wexler co-wrote the script with Sean Redlitz.
“The Sacrifice Game is my tribute to the beauty and boldness of ’70s horror,” Wexler said in a statement, “anchored in an unlikely friendship between outsiders.”
