Rob Zombie caused ripples of excitement last year when he confirmed his plans to resurrect the psychotic firefly family from his most celebrated works, 2003’s House of 1000 Corpses and sequel The Devil’s Rejects. Well, things have apparently moved pretty fast, as the metal icon turned horror director announced on Tuesday via his official Instagram account that shooting on the new film – entitled 3 From Hell – has begun!
“It’s all true!” Zombie wrote; “Day One shooting Three From Hell! The murder and madness continues.”
While we know next to nothing about how Zombie plans to do revive Baby, Otis and Captain Spaulding (who were last seen driving into a hail of gunfire to the sounds of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Freebird), the title may suggest something of a supernatural bent, and the three sadistic sickos returning from the grave.
Zombie has reportedly been in negotiations with Saban Films and Lionsgate (both of whom distributed his last film, 31) to release 3 From Hell in cinemas, and on VOD and home video.
